Stop hoarding your gifts in your head
I’ve been told that I’m good with words. Which for introverted person who stutters, is hard for me except. I don’t like speaking in front of people. I’m not the type of person who will just walk up to a stranger and introduce myself. So why do some of the people closet to me believe that I’m good with words? Well, when given the opportunity, I guess one could say that I can put together something on paper or in person off the top of my head with relative ease. This is especially true if it’s a topic that I feel that I’m well adverse at.
With all that being said, what’s the point of this post. The point of this post, is that we all have knowledge about something that others might not know as much as us about. Don’t let something like stuttering or not being the best writer stop you from getting your point across. It’s important to share your gift or knowledge with of other as often as possible.
I as well as others are guilty of just assuming everyone knows about that, so they don’t need my perspective on said topic, too. Another thing I and others say is they can just google it if they don’t know. You can’t Google what you don’t know you need to know.
This is where a lot of people need to stop and think for minute. Throughout our day we get so much information thrown at us from various sources such as radio, TV, social media, etc. But for a lot of people, myself included; it has to presented in a particular way to catch our attention.
For me if I’m chatting with someone, listening to a podcast, reading, or watching something. I tend to focus more on what they didn’t mean to say than what they’re trying to say. The point that I’m trying to make is most of time the best part of what someone said is often buried in article, video, podcast, etc. It’s all about how a given topic is broken down and made more relatable to whomever is truly paying attention to all of the content being presented.
Hopefully this inspires you to start sharing your gift with others more often. I’m not saying by any means for you to share your gift or knowledge with people who you know that doesn’t want it. For these types of people you can just plant a seed or two when the opportunity presents itself. This way you don’t come off as know it all or too pushy.
